Sujit Choudhry Develops International Reputation As A Constitutional Authority

Sujit Choudhry is a researcher and professor who is internationally recognized as an authority on constitutional matters. He is presently at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center where he is working as a guest researcher. During his career in academics, he has taught in New York, California, and in the Ontario Province of Canada. He was also once a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada. Sujit carries out a wide-ranging research agenda so that he can provide the best policy advice possible to government decision makers. Sujit Choudhry researches politics, constitutional law, semi-presidentialism, constitutional courts, minority rights, secession, and other areas involving his area of expertise.

He is also a prolific writer. Over the past twenty years, Sujit Choudhry has written more than ninety research papers, working papers, reports, and book chapters. He came up with the Center for Constitutional Transitions through which he works hand in hand with other constitutional scholars. He says that when it comes to constitutional knowledge there are gaps including information that is outdated or has yet to be researched. This requires a fair bit of coordination but it helps push forward both people and institutions.
